problem with robot c and vexnet

Whenever I try to update the master code to V10 in robotc 1.98.3 beta, I get an error message stating “failed to erase flash memory.” I’m trying to download over vexnet by connecting the orange cable to the serial port of the vexnet controller attachment.

Whats going on with this?

I believe that you need to unplug the VEXnet from the Serial port in the micro-controller to load firmwares. (I think) you can only load your programs and debug via the wireless connection.
