Problem?

I’m using a servo for steering and cant figure out how to reverse the directions cause right now when i toggle the right stick to the right the wheel turns left and vice versa so is there any humane way to switch it so it will turn right

it turns left when i move the stick to the right and it turns right when i move the stick to the left

PS I’m also willing to resolder something in the servo but it cant involve adding anything new or really hard soldering

Thanks a lot

There is a simple fix to your problem.

  1. Turn on your transmitter.
  2. Press and hold the MODE and SELECT buttons (left of screen) until the menu appears
  3. Press the MODE button until you come to the REVERSE menu.
  4. Press the SELECT button until you reach the channel you want reversed (ie, if you are controlling the servo with the right joystick’s x-axis, you would select channel 1)
  5. See which direction the arrow is pointing on the screen (up or down) and press the DATA INPUT button in the opposite direction. The arrow should now be pointing in the direction you moved the button.
  6. Copy step 2 until the screen disappears and wala! You’re done!

Thanks so much im a newb so thanks a lot im modding the vex system into a rc car

Yes, again. That was under the Reference tab in the Inventors Guide. Do you have an inventors guide?

anyways, I saw a picture of a swerve drives using omnis, and I liked it so much that a built a bot with a differential.

as you can see, I put a jumper in 15 to combine motors 2 and 7, so going up on the right stick (channel 2) would make my robot go forward, and then going back on the stick made it go backwards. If you wanted to make 6 motors power a bot and use the same channel, you could get Y cables from vexlabs

happy to help you. If you’re having any more problems or have questions, post again. You could learn a lot of things from the Inventors Guide.
