I tried to see if I can download programs through the programming hardware kit, but it completely messed up my joystick and now my joystick won’t connect to my cortex with vexnet. I’ve tried to tether it again but that did not solve the problem. If you can find a solution to my problem, that will be great. The first picture is with the controller not connected to the hardware kit. The second picture is with the hardware kit connected(one with cable going into controller). My computer also doesn’t detect the joystick and thinks a joystick is not connected.
Hi Raahil,
Thank you for the pictures, very helpful.
Lets start by getting rid of the solid red lights on the Joystick, can you please recharge the AAA batteries?
After that you should see your usual light pattern on the Joystick. If you continue to get all red lights, please call us directly for more detailed troubleshooting over the phone, our contact information is listed here: Support - VEX Robotics
If after replacing the batteries your Joystick is restored, then please make sure to check for firmware updates on the Joystick through ROBOTC. To do this you simply connect the Joystick to PC using the USB A-to-A cable and then on ROBOTC click on: Robot> Download Firmware> Automatic Update VEXnet Joystick
Repeat the same process for the Cortex, except you will click on: Robot> Download Firmware> Automatic Update VEX Cortex
