We are excited to announce that the software that is required to program robot hardware is finally included with every VEX IQ and VEX EDR kit at no extra charge!
Current VEX users can now download their no-cost version of ROBOTC 4.x and Modkit for VEX directly from the VEX Robotics website.
Perfect timing for the start of the new school year. Thank you, thank you VEX!
My understanding is that RobotC 4.55 does have pre-installed the VexIQ Physical Robot eternal license, so we can program our VexIQ robots. This is big!
For Virtual Worlds, we still ought to buy the RVW license, right?
Same question as nenik,
Does the free license allow you to use RVW as well as program the physical robots. I have perpetual license so cannot see if it does or doesn’t
All I get when I open a sample program is this Error: Error:Preprocessor Symbol ‘waitUntil’ definition is subsequently redefined later. this is with the move forward for time.
If you are talking about programming on an iPad, you can do that today in Robot Mesh Studio using Blockly, Flowol, Controller Express, and Python. Here is the link to the iPad version of Robot Mesh studio: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/robo…099238240?mt=8. It’s available to do, and free to use. Here is the link to our website: http://www.robotmesh.com/studio/
Give it a try, Blockly is a lot like Modkit, except that we offer a seamless path to Python programming for advanced students.
I’ve got that as well Rick. The only thing I am not keen on is that it seems to be essentially a shortcut to the website rather than an app as such so needs an internet connection which is not always possible.
That is very neat! I’m going to go do the download this evening so I have it ready for tomorrow’s meeting.
Can it be downloaded to multiple machines?
Can a team member create a Vex Robotics account and then download the software? Or is it only for specific logins (like the purchaser of the kit)?
