I noticed that my version of PROS was outdated and was wondering, how do I update it? Is there a setting to check for updates or do I need to download the new version? And if I download the new version, do I delete the older one? And finally, if you indeed must redownload PROS for every update, do I need to regularly check for updates?
I think it’s best if you reinstall to the newest version of pros. Because it’s easier to just that than updating it. Updaters sometimes don’t work. Reinstalling it by deleting the old version and getting the new one is the best way to go in my opinion. It’s what I have done with other software.

To answer your other question, I don’t think that pros is updated that often, but you should check for updates once in awhile
Just open the set up.exe file and press fix or repair or modify i just forgot
I mean download the new version of the setup.exe
There are 4 different things that could be updated in PROS.
- The PROS editor and toolchain (installation, contains CLI)
- The PROS CLI (command-line interface)
- The pros-atom package (PROS GUI in the editor)
- The PROS kernel (PROS library which lives in a project)
1-2 must be manually reinstalled from the installers.
3-4 can be updated automatically using update tools.
If you need to upgrade your project, use the GUI in the editor or use the CLI (prosv5 c u
).
If you need to upgrade the CLI or the editor, you have to run the installer.
You do not need to uninstall an old version (unless the old version is PROS 2).
