PROS vex toolbar not showing up

Hello, I started up PROS today and was not able to deploy code onto the cortex. In fact, the vex toolbar that should show up at the top isn’t even there! Furthermore, when I try to begin a new project, I don’t have the ability to create anything new and the toolbar just says “No Applicable Items”. Any ideas? Or should I try to reinstall it?

This has happened to me before (on OS X). Uninstall and reinstall has worked, and it tends to remember you[r] projects.

Reinstalling it did not work. It still isnt allowing me to create a new project and I cant deploy code to the bot… :S

Fent1 can you please supply a screenshot of what you are observing as well as the log file from following these instructions. After a fresh install of PROS the interface should look like what I have attached.

Sure, as you can see the “VEX” toolbar at the top isnt there. Also when I try to open a new project, it wont let me (I’ve reinstalled PROS twice… ) Is there another way to get the log file? The instructions you’ve sent say go to window and then show view… :S
(Thanks for helping)

Check the third bullet point in the eclipse documentation link. I have quoted it below for your convienence:

From what the screenshots show, it appears eclipse is failing to load its plugins. The log will most definitely be helpful in exposing the root cause.

Just want to check, are you running the latest version of PROS?

Yes, I am

@fent1, will you try reinstalling the latest version of PROS located here: Release v1.6.0.0: Eclipse Mars! · purduesigbots/purdueros-eclipse · GitHub

@Jabibi I believe this is it. (well- i hope)

After uninstalling PROS again, I reinstalled it from that link, now it will not let me open pros, and gives me the following error in the screenshot. Java was installed as a part of pros, but should I try to install JDK separately?

Hmm… I just tried installing on a fresh virtual machine and I wasn’t able to reproduce your issue. I would check and see if you have any older versions of Java installed and, if not, uninstall whatever version you have currently and grab the latest JRE or JDK.
