pulley drive

i am starting to work on a robot that is not chain or gear drivin but pulley belt drivin.i think that vex shud mack a add on kit that is a belt and pulley kit

sounds like a pretty good idea… though it would be difficult to make bots have to work around predetermined belt lengths. now i do know of adjustable belts but the are much larger i’m not sure how or if that would be possible in the scale of vex componets

see i have a 4in pulley and a 1in pulley so i will get good speed

its a good idea. the only thing needed are the pullleys themselves and different size rubber bands (much stronger than just rubber though)

i had pulleys.see i ues heat to cut the belt and then ues low heat to reatach the belt and cover it with 1 or 2 strips of black tape on it and u have a belt:D

it would also allow the wheels to have some give to them.

what about uesing pulleys off a rideing lawn mower and the belt off the cuters or r thay to big?:rolleyes:

Pulley drive is a great idea. I think three diffrent sizes would give enough variety to fit whatever you want to do. Post a thread in new product ideas. you would also need several diffrent sizes in the pulley wheels.
