Was this just an experiment, or are you planning on keeping this design for future competitions?
I just realized that the person on 7842H who drove that pushbot yesterday was also named cameron.
That means that two people named Cameron drove pushbots at different competitions on the west coast of North America on the same day, became the alliance captains of tournament finalist alliance.
If that isnāt a co-incidence, I donāt know what is.
How does one go about changing their name to Cameron. I want to get in on this coincidence ![]()
Just for fun, but now looking at how good pushing is, we will probably be adding more power to our drive.
Also some people have been PMāing me about gear ratioās and what not.
Its literally a pushbot. With 4, 4" wheels, direct drive hs geared together like the vex claw bot.
Do you know the weight on it? Also I couldnāt tell in the video but I am wondering if you had something that ran into the wall to prevent you from driving too far under or if good driving just prevented that.
If you fullscreen the video you can see two C-Channels sticking up to prevent that. I honestly couldnāt see being able to drive that without it, spending way too much time trying to be careful.
Yeah after watching again I saw him slam the posts against the wall on the far side once.
Interesting choice of name. I was confused for a second thereā¦
I can attest to the power of pushbots. One of my school districtās middle schoolās teams has a pushbot that vaulted itself into the 2nd place spot after qualification matches at one of my high schoolās tournaments. I was amazed at that feat, especially that coming from a rookie team.
But one of our teams with a push-bot, won the comp
We actually built the robot out of habit in aluminum, (about 5-6lbs) than realized it had no traction, so we strapped a bunch of steel to (now 13lbs)
Still super light
Yeah we had 2 pieces sticking up so we could slam against the wall.
comp in less than 5 days, building one ![]()
have you tried turbo gearing
could just make it faster
They might do 8 motor drive with 4 motor extender now
Hey, why did you take apart your RI3D robot? We were modeling our robot after that⦠was it not good?
I think they still have that stowed somewhere.
Did you never try pushing the cubes into the near zone because it would just compress and push them into the tiles, making it impossible/hard to move them?
Obviously all pushbots are not created equal, awesome job Cameron.
