The design of my team’s robot is a lift bot with an intake. The part we need help on the lift. We are using a car jack to actually lift our alliance’s robot. For our alliance to drive up onto the car jacks (one on each side of the robot). The problem is the deployment of the ramps. The ramps are made out of a series of large c-channels that fold up into a “z” shape. Right now we are thinking of using linear slides to deploy the ramps, but we don’t want to do something but have it end up not working and have to scrap the idea. Any help will be very appreciated. Thanks

Our z-shaped low lift ramp is rubber band assisted, and has a motor with a lever that pushes it out. Kind of a waste of a motor, but we weren’t using it anywhere else.
Do you have a motor left to use? If not the best way is to use a ton of elastics, and then release it with a motor that is usually used for something else.
I’d assume you’ve done it already anyways, but if not definitely test your lifting mechanism before adding to it. Find something that is roughly 20 pounds (small bucket?), put it on top, and try it out to make sure the gears won’t skip.
