My team finished our autonomous, and we were set up to run official skills. We had planned to rapid load by rolling. But when we started, the judge said that it was illegal, so we couldn’t run, though I’ve seen teams roll before. Does anyone know if rolling is actually legal or not? Any help is appreciated.
You say judges, judges are the people who read your notebook, interview you, and decide the awards like excellence, etc.
Referees are, well, referees, they are running the game itself.
Since judges have no part in the game itself, I’m going to assume you mean referee…
Did you check the game manual before coding your autonomous?
As @RoboticsIsFun said, it is not illegal BUT if it is hard to see that it satisfies all the conditions for rapid loading the referees don’t give benefit of the doubt.
Did you calmly, and respectfully ask to speak with the head referee? And show them the rule that says it is legal?
If no, well you should have, if yes, well there’s not much you can do.
Sometimes there’s a risk to doing an “unorthodox” strategy.
