Where will the field instructions be released to and when? I bought the elements yesterday, and was planning on pulling an all nighter to put them together but I cannot find them anywhere. Is there a reason vex hasn’t put out the instructions yet?

It is absolutely ridiculous that they would sell the game and not have the instructions ready to go along with it. Personally I have always thought the hero bot directions should be available the day of also but there is no excuse to not have something you are selling not being able to be built.

Vex released the field CAD as a ZIP file, I had to convert it to a STEP file to get Autodesk to read it. Granted it is nowhere near as good as instructions but is the next best thing.
This should be the link to a visible CAD, it is not instructions and has minimal colour but you can tell where the pieces go. Tell me if the link doesn’t work.

Do you think its worth going ahead and putting the field together with that? When are the actual instructions released?
Probably not, I can have an answer on the day that the field instructions are coming out soon, I emailed Vex Support today and will respond to this with what they told me when they email me back.

To my knowledge this is pretty standard, the field and field elements are still listed as in pre order. Usually instructions are released about the time the fields ship and it goes from pre order to regular order.
The problem here is that they sold the full game kits at the end of Worlds. There are 100’s of these kits already in teams hands and now those of us who purchased them have no instructions to actually put them together. My kids were ready to build everything up Saturday night, only to find the QR code for instructions getting a 404 error.

I emailed vex support and this is the response I received.

With everyone at VEX Worlds the last 2 weeks there has been a few delays in the instruction and web updates. We will update the site and have the build instructions up as soon as they are ready, by the end of the week.

Thanks for the update! Although, this is still frustrating. They really should have had this ready to go prior to actually selling the kits.

Hopefully the hero bot isn’t far behind, although it looks from the video like it’s probably just a wider-and-higher-intake Fling bot overall.

I hope so. My kids should be finishing up the game today and want to start building the bot tomorrow. They already have lots of ideas of where they want to go with it just based on the intro video.
