Real-time Change Up Scoring App

Hey!

I’m on team 7700R and I made a new scoring app for the 2020 Vex Change Up game. As a driving coach, I found that the VRC Change Up scoring app was not so great, so I decided to write an app that scores in real-time. It’s available to download for free on the App Store, and I’d love for you all to check it out if you have the chance.

Here are some of the functionalities:

  • Tapping on the ball changes the color
  • Swipe on the bottom of the goal to de-score the bottom ball, and the other balls will drop down
  • If you long tap, you have the option to reset or clear the field
  • The square buttons with the “A” represent the auton buttons
  • At the top is a grid showing the top view of the field so you can see the connected rows

Cool! I love how intuitive it is to descore. I also like that it is easy. to see the state of the goals and what balls are in them.

My only problem is that there seems to be a discrepancy between the max scores on this app and VRC Hub:

I didn’t limit the number of balls, so the VRC Hub shows 16 balls while mine shows 27 :slight_smile:

This app is great for strategizing onto which goal to descore. My only suggestion will be that when a ball on the bottom is descored, the other balls on top will go down and take its place. This way you only have to change one ball instead of having to change all 3 when a ball is descored

I actually have a functionality for that. You can swipe the bottom ball of the goal, which de-scores the bottom ball and the other balls go down and take its place

Version 1.0.2 should have the fix limiting the balls to 16 per color
