A couple months ago, I shared details about Referee FYI, a mobile application designed for Head Referees to record their anomaly log digitally, and collaborate in real-time with others. Since then, it has been used at over 100 events including the Kalahari Signature, Ignite the Northwest Signature, and the World Championsip.
- Record match anomaly logs by match, and see citations by team, including summaries for each match.
- Works offline* and stores all data locally on-device.
- Built in sharing system that allows users to synchronize anomaly log entries across multiple devices.
For the 2024-2025, Referee FYI will be “Generally Available” for V5RC, VIQRC, VURC, and VAIRC.
- Any Head Referee has the ability to use it an an event that uploads to RobotEvents. No work is needed by the Event Partner.
- Realtime collaboration is supported for up to 100 simultaneous participants and protected behind strong asymmetric encryption. More information about the security model can be found here.
- Multi-division events are supported. If you plan to use it at a large, multi-division event, please reach out to me.
- Beta support for ADC will be released later this season.
If you have any questions or feedback about your experience using Referee FYI, feel free to reach out!
