I know that the rulebook says that in order to qualify for the Excellence award at World Championships a team must complete an online challenge. Does this challenge :http://forum.robotevents.com/design/challenge/detail/157 , the essay count towards the criteria for Excellence award consideration?
Appendix E from the Sack Attack manual reads:
[INDENT]At the 2013 VEX Robotics Competition World Championship, only teams that have submitted at least 1 VEX Online Challenge, have won an Excellence Award at a previous event, have signed up for an Excellence Award interview, and have signed up for a Design Award interview (with their engineering notebook) will be considered for the Excellence Award.

Therefore, the requirement is to enter a VEX Online Challenge, and the Essay Challenge is one of the Online Challenges.
