Release mechanism isn’t holding launcher arm down

I am unsure why the launcher arm only stays down while holding the button but was working fine yesterday

Can you please post a picture and/or more details. I do not know what you are talking about. If you mean on the hero bot swish, there may be an issue with the gears on the ratchet.

Remember to set the stopping to brake or hold.

It looks like you have a ratchet, kind of like the hero bot. Try what @Team2470Z said. If that does not work, you may need to remove the ratchet gear and make it so the teeth are facing the other way.
