The lady brown mechanism picks the ring correctly from the ramp, but when it is close to the wall stake and is almost vertical, the ring slips and falls out - what is the best way to “hold” the ring in place? I was trying a mesh, but it didn’t hold it- maybe I am not using the mesh correctly? Any pictures of working “hold ring” ideas?
I have seen teams use rubber bands at the claw, but I cannot recall exactly how or where they fit the rubber bands to give a good grip which is equally easy to let go once the ring is on the stake
And if you want to add on to your questionn make a post under said topic
As long as the ring is securely in the claw, the amount/position/etc of rubber bands (I would prefer to use anti-slip mats though) don’t matter. A lady brown operates on the principle that there is a ton of friction holding the ring in place, and when put on the stake, the stake will hold the ring in place while the robot drives away (don’t retract your lady brown until the ring is not contacting it anymore), so how “easily” the claw lets go of the ring doesn’t matter too much. Better to have more friction than less.
