There have been multiple times in autonomous skills where the triballs end up either turning the robot or prevent the robot from turning all together. Does anyone have any advice on how to get stuck on the triballs less?
Where are some places that you do get stuck? Do you get stuck on triballs near the goal, next to one of the barriers, or on the side? Do you guys have a flywheel, catapult, none of them, or another launching mechanism? If you can answer my question, then it would be easier to answer.
We have a slingshot the area we mostly get stuck is marked by red on the picture below
I’m guessing you’re doing a triball rush in the middle?
I don’t have the best ideas when it comes to this (I’m not a coder), but I’d definitely recommend something like color or vision sensors if you can afford it. Just have the sensors detect the colors and stop the robot if you run into a triball or something like that.
Alternatively, just brute force it. Trial and error over and over again until you get something that works.
If you’re getting stuck on an alliance partner pushing triballs over the barrier, there’s not much you can do at a tournament to change that, besides telling them to not use that code.
So basically, sensors or brute force is what I’d do to help avoid getting stuck.
