Robot Help

We can’t get our intake working right. It was working all year, and it was working the week before we previously used slow-mo video to analyze what was wrong. We did this and still couldn’t get it to work. I have attached one of our slow-mo videos for reference.

Here’s what we have tried:

Changing the rpm 600, 450, 300

changed goal angle

We will find anyone who could help. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks, and we are in the spirit division if that makes a difference.

I think the problem is the flat section, it doesn’t look like the back of the ring can get flung that well. Maybe try reducing it or removing it entirely. Also, I think more speed may be helpful.

We’ve found that it’s slightly more reliable to cut motors as it gets to the mogo because the ring still has momentum but it’s not being pulled down.

I am fairly certain that you just need to move the flex wheels at the top further apart. I have had this issue and this seemed to fix it. Maybe just position them on the outside of the c channel instead of inside.

Having plastic in the area that the ring is falling into should fix your issue.

After working on a similar issue throughout the year, I know exactly how to fix your issue.

  1. Chain tension – From your video, the chain you run on the intake looks pretty loose. This causes the ring to sag and have less force going over. Also, your flex wheels don’t seem to properly contact the ring, not giving it the flipping force neccesary.
  2. Height – Give your intake a little more height so when a ring is fully flipped, it is right on time for the goal. I can’t access a picture at the moment, but I will send one later
    These should help your issue.
