Robot in 3 Days

Rolling Robots team 7700 will be hosting the a Robot in 3 Days build this weekend. Teams 62, 6007 and 7700 are building for 72 hrs Friday - Sunday June 9-11 Check in for new postings as available.

Good luck to all of you guys! I’m anxious to see the results!

one interesting thing that I notice is that for the past few seasons, 7700/62/6007 Ri3D actually coincide with 8059’s version of Ri3D (or even Ri1D) .

But we can’t reveal our robots until after Singvex (19 and 20 June for this year) for obvious reason.

But for the past few seasons, our robots’ designs are pretty different. I am definitely interested to see what you guys are coming out with for this year

PS… @Cameron Schiller - it was unfortunate for us during Starstruck Worlds. I was really hoping that the alliance can go far during the elimination. But it was great to finally have the opportunity to work with you

My favorite part of the whole tournament was when we had a match against 8059A and a bearing holding our claw tip go broken in a scuffle over the fence, so I gave the broken section to your team. Y’all better still have it! :stuck_out_tongue:

(I’m kidding, I would probably lose something like that extremely quickly.)

While the thread is still off topic, I’ll say that I wish my match against 62 and 8059a went a little bit better. Missed out on a fun match there. Still not sure why our bot spiraled out of control in auton, we couldn’t get it to replicate the error. Tried our best in driver control, though.

Can’t wait to see what you guys can come up with in 3 days, minimalist designs are tough this year.

Thanks! Im glad we could finally ally. I think 62 might have a discobots-style quarterfinal curse, especially looking at the previous ways our season has come to an end at worlds. Not a fun way to lose.

I can’t wait to make my final ri3d for all of you guys. This part of the season has always been one of the most rewarding for me because it’s the biggest way I can give back to this community. Keep on a look out for the video!

Singvex pushbots for the win!

I can’t even imagine a one-day build this season. I am going to have five separately-powered subsystems…

Remember 8059a Nbn? :stuck_out_tongue:

But to be fair, it is not possible for every season… but again, if all you want is a 6-bar claw that can push mobile base into 10-point zone… it is doable in one day :stuck_out_tongue:

Here is what they have in 12 hours:

Cough
202

They did well, but I believe if you want a fully competitive robot, you have to carry the mobile goal and stack on it as you go. That kind of robot takes a lot of time.

Yeah, the mobile goals add a major challenge. Especially when you try to put everything together and make it work harmoniously.

I’m guessing the Singapore robots will show us how well a simple robot can do (especially when driven well). Hopefully there will still be some mobile goal carrying, though

I’ve been working on that type of robot pretty much from week 2 after the game was revealed and it’s still not done

Edit: I meant an internal stacker, not something like 202.

I’ve been working on that for about two weeks, off and on. It’s about halfway there.

I ~could~ have done mine in an ri3d. It’s mostly done now, but I’ve only spent about 30 hrs on it. 3 days solely focused on a robot is 50+ hrs of build time, which is a lot.

Leeks?

Maybe. Like I said, it’s not done yet. I haven’t had much time to work on it, and I leave the country for vacation for pretty much the rest of the summer in 1 week.

And I’m sure, as per usual, whatever you’ve got will blow me out of the water.

@Coffee In a few weeks. Cameron found someone to do the editing so it might take a little longer than usual but it should be out in a few weeks. All I can say is that the robot is pretty crazy.
