Hello fellow vex members! We are having issues with either a motor, port, or wire you can’t figure out after changing the ports position 3 times, 2 new wires, and 3 new motors. when the motors did work temporarily it did seem to work fine but then we would get the red blinking light. Every other motor is working fine on the robot and we never had issues with them.
V5 or V4 cortex/controller?
V5, sorry thought that was in there
try using a port that for sure works and a brand new motor and wire.
We changed the motor again ;-;. That seemed to fix it another thing we are looking at more carefully is the V5 Temperature. So we now have on our robot brain the temps of all the motors to see if that is an issue, and to see if we need to watch our time more carefully during practice matches.
Are you using custom length cables? We have a really long custom cable on our lift and 3ish ports stopped working on our Brain. Not sure if it is permanent or not.
I recognize this issue. If you try to turn the motor by hand, the motor is seized, right?
@jack202020 Yes the motor seizes. and also @Mark_Finley the robot is entirly made from custom cables but one cable which was that one cable connect to the motor and it was a long cable so we replaced it a dead motor ago.
Your motor must’ve overheated and failed. Broken V5 Motor... Again - #5 by jack202020
