ROBOTC 4.55 upgrade issue

I have updated ROBOTC following being prompted by the software to move from 4.54 to 4.55. The 4.55 install completes successfully but when you open it, it still shows as 4.54. This wouldn’t be too much of an issue but the firmware file has been renamed as VEX_IQ_1055.bin for the new version so the software can no longer see it, it is looking for 1054.
I have also downloaded directly from the VEX downloads page and installed from there but the same issue occurs.

A forum member also shared this method of manual delete and reinstall which does work. It’s an easy remedy on a single machine but not when there are many machines to upgrade so it needs fixing.
I couldn’t actually reply to this topic as it appears that even the orginal poster can’t reply to a post in this sub-forum.

This is an issue we have been seeing occasionally with attempts to overwrite the 4.54 install. Fortunately, it’s fairly easy to remedy.

Please uninstall all copies of ROBOTC using your Windows ‘Apps & features’ control panel (In Windows 7, this is called ‘Add/Remove Programs’). Then, remove any files left in your ‘C:/Program Files (x86)/Robomatter Inc/ROBOTC Development Environment 4.x/’ folder if necessary. Once this is complete, install ROBOTC as normal using the ‘ROBOTCforVEXRobotics_455Release.exe’ installer executable.

Please let me know if this helps.
