ROBOTC Competition Template: Pre-autonomous function

When does the pre-autonomous function in the ROBOTC Competition Template start? Does it start immediately upon turning on the robot (even when the competition switch is disabled)? (I don’t have the competition switch, so I can’t test that…) I’m trying to create a calibration program for my light sensors, but I want to make sure I can use it in competition.

It starts as soon as you turn the robot on.
