ROBOTC Motors Setup - PID

Hello, my team has gotten the most recent update of ROBOTC, and I noticed that the motor setup now has a PID control option for any motors with a quad encoder on it (integrated or otherwise). I was wondering what checking off that option on the menu actually did, and how I can use it in my code. Thanks in advance.

At this time that checkbox is just a “stub”, so it’s just a visual placeholder for the code that’s coming. An update should be out this week or early next week that actually includes the functionality.

You won’t have to do anything to include it in your code. All you have to do is make sure you have the encoders set up correctly and press the checkbox - all of your motor control will just work better with the work being done behind the scenes.
