Robotc sensors not popping up

Our middle school team is trying to use 5 shaft encoders on their robot, but RobotC only shows 4 and when they try to plug in another encoder one randomly goes away. We can’t figure out why and was wondering if RobotC has a limit on how many sensors you can show in the debugger?
