Out of curiosity and for all and anyone to answer: What software (excluding programming) do you use in robotics, in areas such as design, engineering, brainstorming, note-taking…?
Inventor, OneNote and Solidworks are useful
For design my team uses solidworks, excel sheets for calculators, google docs
For brainstorming/notebook we use docs
Let’s not forget the VEXnet Upgrade Utility and VEXnet Key 2.0 Update Utility
Notepad++ is a nice tool to have. Nothing necessary, but i like using it for viewing code when i don’t need to compile and run.
I use EagleCad to design and build electronic circuits for my robotic applications and use Matlab and Robot Basic for developing and testing robot algorithms and behaviors.
