RSC5 Ruling Clarification

The students are confused with the RSC5 rule and are asking many question. They are trying to strategizing and want to be sure they follow the rules.

The rule states any Game objects being controlled by the Robot while being handled must be removed from the Robot and gently placed in a non-Scored position by the Team.

Does this mean if the robot is touching a game object and in order to reset the robot you must touch or move a cube in order to reset the robot? Can the cube then be moved to a non scoring area?
What if the robot’s arm is pushed through a cube, not touching the cube?

I hope someone can help us clarify this rule so the students may program accordingly and avoid any controversy in competitions.

There are a few open clarifications on the q&a right now. So once those questions are answered you will have a better idea.

The use of the word control is the main issue.

The rest of this post is my personal opinion!!!

I would not say that a robot touching an element or sticking in arm through an element would count as control. Again this will be clarified once the q&a questions get answered.
