Does it matter what kind of rubber band is used?
We have 1 inch thick rubber bands, and are wondering if we can use those instead of the vex skinny orange ones?
Thanks!

The only legal rubber bands are #32 and #64, both of which you can find at an office supply store, and neither of which is “1-inch thick.” Your giant rubber bands would fail inspection.
Okay, thank you!
Depending on the use of the rubber bands, the cheap ones at an office supply place may be great. If you are wanting something with more consistency you should get good quality rubber bands. Robosource.net has a decent price on quality rubber bands.
If you are using them for stored energy you may want to consider purchasing good ones so you can have consistent results. If you are using them to add friction, any cheap rubber band will do.
