Rule "G6" and walking/climbing over the wall

My team loved the hexbug demo section at World’s.

They are talking about building a robot with legs or big wheels and driving over/walking over the wall. Essentially, not relying on the bridge at all.

Before they spend all summer planning and or building…I’m looking for whether this will be legal.

Rule “g6” says:

" Drivers are prohibited from making intentional contact with any Field Element or Robots during a Match. Any intentional contact may result in a Disqualification. Accidental contact will not be penalized, unless the contact directly impacts the final outcome of the match. This type of accidental contact may result in a Disqualification."

Driving / Walking over the wall will definitely involve contact with the wall. Will the team get disqualified?

My interpretation of rule G6 is to prevent hyper-aggressive ramming that could break other robots or the field.

It can’t really be “no intentional contact” ever, because field elements get intentionally contacted all the time.

Hopefully the team can get an official ruling from Vex IQ so the team doesn’t get DQ’d in the future. Thanks.

<G6> prevents Drivers from contacting Field Elements. This means the humans who are operating the Robots are not allowed to touch the Field Elements. Robots are absolutely allowed to interact with Field Elements. So there are no rules against Robots contacting the Fence. So your students can continue their efforts to walk over the Fence!
