I’ve heard a lot about burning out your motors when driving on anything that isn’t anti-static foam tile. I want to take my robot home to test auton, but my team-mate is concerned about the motors burning out from the static on my wood floors (I know wood floors would be a little cursed for odom and drift, but I’m willing to try). If wood flooring isn’t safe, what materials are?
our team practices on a concrete floor, ie garage or basement. this works very well for us when we are cramming for a competition.
I don’t see why a wood floor wouldn’t work, STAY AWAY FROM CARPET! it will fry the motors so bad.
