Sanding down motor so it will fit against the short 1 wide part of the C channel is it legal

Would it be legal to sand down the Chunky V5 motors so they will fit better in C channels?

No modifications to electronic components are allowed. Motors (including the internal PTC or
Smart Motor firmware), microcontrollers (including V5 Robot Brain firmware), extension cords, sensors, controllers, battery packs, reservoirs, solenoids, pneumatic cylinders, and any other electrical component or pneumatics component of the VEX EDR platform may NOT be altered from their original state in ANY way.

This is taken from the Game manual. It clearly states that modifying in any way is illegal and hence you could not sand down V5 motors.
