Saving data outside of programs on V5 brain

Is there any way to store data outside of program files on the v5 brain? Like a way to save a few variables or something to a file and be able to recall them at a later date or in a different program. I’ve been wondering this for a while now, it would be nice to have some sort of persistent memory from run to run or program to program.

You can write to the SD card but I’m not entirely familiar with how that works
