When I was reading over the game manual, I looked at the Scheduled April Update <G20>. In Note A, it says that we should be looking out for point value changes for parking and autonomous bonus. If this does happen, would it be drastically changed or only by 1 or 2 points?

If speculation - Auton will be 10 points, but reduced to 5 seconds 
No, I just want to know what the community thinks will happen, because this could be a decently big change depending on how many points they change it by.
With V5 - I hope they will make autonomous period longer in future games.
I hope that once the transition to v5 is complete more emphasis on using the vision sensor during auton would be cool to see.
But what do you think will happen to the point values, which is what the manual says will happen?
I’m fairly certain that nothing will change. For the past 2-3 (ish) years, they’ve had this rule in. Nothing has really ever changed.
If they do change something, however, I’d say that it would be most likely that they change the points for the yellow platform. I feel like since it’s worth so much, some teams literally go crazy to get on that platform and that’s been resulting a LOT of damaged robots. To fix this, they might reduce the points there, but I highly doubt they’ll change anything.

Oh. When I meant there weren’t any major changes, I meant any game changes. I wasn’t counting BO1 as part of this conversation since it wasn’t technically part of gameplay. It’s about elimination structure.

Yeah, but these are point values, so I’m kind of concerned…
I wouldn’t expect anything to change. The GDC probably only included this rule in case the game was grossly imbalanced and they decided to correct it.

Probably no changes this year, but I too would like to see more emphasis on auton. A longer auton, say, 30 seconds, would push for more programming skill development.

That seems right. They put the same phrasing in the manual last year and cones and mogos remained exactly the same number of points. Although that update is where they introduced best of 1 so they might have some “surprises” in store for us this year. Fun fun.

Vex worlds 2019: we don’t even have elimination round anymore
If anything changed, I think it would probably be cap on post points. In FL, there arent many cap bots because its just not worth it point wise when they are so easily descored. I dont think they will change platform values but maybe make auton worth a few more points as 4 points isnt much of a bonus.
