Our students dug into the Scoring Calculator and came up with 588 points as a maximum score. But our mentor team was not sure we can use the calculator number as definitive. Another student team then assembled the scoring objects and using the Scoring Examples came up with a max score of 419.
Do your teams have a better number?
I think the actual max score is 584, if you could send how you came up with 588, but i got it just by hitting the plus button on everything in the calculator, but this isn’t possible because there are bonus points for touching multiple scoring objects at the end of the match, but those also count as descoring the objects, so it would end up not being possible
The 588 is the result of pushing all the buttons to their maximum. But that is NOT what a team can do with the game pieces.
As we see it. Starting with = 121 points
Then or = 91 points
That leaves 7 Red, 7 Blue and 10 Orange Pins
7 3-color stacks on matching goals = 28*7=196 points
1 stack of 3 Orange Pins in the Floor Goal = 13 points
4 cleared starting pins = 8 points
Total 429
We think that the calculator has to accommodate all combinations of Pins and Beam Stacks such that 588 is calculatable, but not achievable.
