While designing my robot, a question just came across my mind. Essentially, if you were to have an intake that could score onto a mogo held with a mogo mech, and while holding this mogo, at the same time, score on another mogo with an arm, would it count as double possession? I’m not sure about the specifics of the double possession rule so I was wondering if anyone knows how that’ll be ruled.
Read SG6 and the definition of possession. They will probably answer your question.
@Brandon_Martus Could you update the manual links in the menu? They were an easy way to share the game manual PDF.
Per SG6:
Plowing multiple Mobile Goals is permitted. However, Plowing an additional Mobile Goal while
also Possessing one is considered a Violation of this rule due to the extremely high likelihood
of accidental/implied Possession. Teams which employ Plowing strategies are encouraged to
clearly demonstrate that none of the Mobile Goals are being Possessed, e.g., by using a flat
face of the Robot with no active mechanisms.
If you are able to score the ring without touching the mogo, you are fine, but if you touch the second mogo, I interpreted that as a violation.
These have been updated. Thanks for the reminder.
I think it depends on the mechanism used for descoring. If you are grabbing the rings in such a way that if your robot moves or is pushed and it moves the mogo with your robot, that would be a secondary possession (regardless of if you actually move or get pushed). If you have some sort of forklift mechanism that would slide out if your robot moves and the mogo would stay in the same spot that it was in before you started to descore, I would assume it is legal.
Personally i don’t see it as an issue.
This is assuming that you are not in control of the 2nd mobile goal in any way and your robot is able to stretch the arm (within the expansion limit) far enough to score on the 2nd mobile goal.
