Sensors in Driver Control

I just purchased some of the Super Kits for my introductory Robotics class and have a question about the sensors. When I run Driver Control I am not getting any response from the Sensors. I know they are working because I can look at the status screen and see the readings they are supposed to be giving (like Bumper pressed or released, the color, ect.) However in the program there is no sign that they are working.

I’m confused. Are you talking driver control, where you drive the robot using the controller, or autonomous mode, where the robot brain drives it.
