A. Contacting at least one (1) of the gray foam field tiles directly in front of their [Alliance Station].
New team question… does this mean you basically have the 2 tiles to the left or right of the tipping balance to place your robot? And that they can be placed in any orientation as long as no part of robot extends to the 2nd row of tiles? Thanks
I would first quote most of <SG1> to understand what is permissible:
a. Contacting at least one (1) of the gray foam field tiles directly in front of their Alliance Station, i.e. the row of gray foam field tiles that contains their Alliance’s Platform.
b. Not contacting any other gray foam field tiles, i.e. those in contact with the white tape lines that define the Alliance Home Zone. > c. Not contacting any Scoring Objects other than the Preloads.
d. Not contacting another Robot. > e. Not contacting the Platform.
and I am highlighting two import statements in bold.
So candidate location for placing the robot is the whole row of tiles in front of alliance station that has the platform. Second constraint of concern - not contacting the platform or scoring objects.
There is no limitation on orientation of the robot, just what it can not contact. Your robot should be completely contained in that row that is permitted.
So if your robot fits, you could even place it under the platform as long as the robot does not contact the platform, and other robot.
I may have missed something - so please correct me if there are mistakes in this interpretation.
