states that one’s hand may momentarily break the plane of the field perimeter while introducing Triballs into the Match Load Zone or onto the Robot while the robot is touching the match load zone/bar. To what extent would attached body parts also be allowed to break the field perimeter during this action in the case that the desired location on the robot would be too far to reach with merely the hand?
Sounds like a wonderful question for the Q and A but my interpretation is that you should do everything in your power to keep “attached body parts” out of the field to abide by but I’m no GDC…
Edit: to abide by s1
Actually… the robot will need to be at least touching the bar at the corner. So I am not so sure how far will the robot be…
well the horizontal expansion limit is 36’’ so maybe 18 inches away?
Legally speaking, the maximum distance a student can reach into the field is 5 feet.
Doesn’t work. Lets say the robot is like this
The mechanism can be on the far side of the robot. This makes it complicated.
True but this isn’t really practical as it’s been clarified in the Q&A that you have to stay in the drive team area while match loading, and I don’t know many people who can reach over 4 feet.
