Shaker-X by 254C

Hi there! For the FUTURE robot construction challenge, we made a shaker table named Shaker-X. Here it is:

Something like this could be used to test the effect of seismic activity on buildings allowing our architectural engineers to make some earthquake proof buildings, unless the earthquake happens right underneath the building.

I thought this was going to be one of those Gravity Separators that they use in industries, but this idea is pretty cool!

Is there a method that you guys found to simulate the S-Waves made by earthquakes? Sorry if you guys addressed that already I’m just intrigued by your design.

We did not have too much time to build this robot, so our simulator ended up being fairly simple. Had we had more time, we definitely would have incorporated something to make S-Waves. Perhaps we could have used a more complex platform than our current one piece.
