Would having a laminated side panel on either side of our robot get in the way? If we had the side panel pretty much all the way on the ground, would we be able to have it if it was not catching on game objects? Thanks!
I don’t think there are a lot of people looking at this thread and this forum.
As currently posed, we do not understand your question. Specifically:
“Would having a laminated side panel on either side of our robot get in the way?” – Get in the way of what?
Please try and rephrase you question in a more specific manner such that we can understand your question.
Would it like grab on to game pieces? I think we have already found a solution to our problem, so thanks anyway!
Since there are no rule related questions here, I’m moving this thread to the General Forum where it will be open to the entire community.
Sounds good!
As long as you’re following <R7>d I don’t see any issue. Make sure the laminated paper comes in contact with any objects - game pieces, goals, the field - and you likely won’t have any issues.
Come in contact, or not to come in contact.
Thanks!
if the paper does NOT touch the objects, then you are good to go
That is VERY hard to avoid. My coach thought of a better idea.
Thanks all
A side panel going all the way to the ground would definitely touch game objects, but if you have enough room on the side, you could cover the panel will polycarbonate (provided you haven’t used your 2 square feet yet) so it’s the polycarb touching the objects, not your laminated panel.
I doubt anyone cares if side panels incidentally contact game pieces, as long as they aren’t functional.
I think we are doing something like that.
Yeah honestly unless there was an actual issue with it (like you were pushing stuff with the panels) it should be fine.
Technically it’s not allowed, but we’ve gotten away with it:

Gotcha! Thanks!
