Skills preload / load zone bar triballs

Hey, I was wondering if in skills matches, we can actually use the triballs in load zones as preloads . I mean , I thought that we can however still do we need to start the game just once every triball is set as shown in the manual . If so, can we during the match take the triball out of the load zoneand shoot it after we start the game

yes, but I think its much more efficient to just match load directly onto the robot. but It should be legal so u do u :man_shrugging:

Don’t say “it should be legal (which, if I’m understanding correctly, it actually isn’t).” Post a link to the relevant rule in the game manual (or Q&A) instead.

@Yasou45 Could you please clarify what exactly you mean? Do you mean reaching in, taking the triball out of the loading zone, and placing it into your robot? Something else? I’m not sure exactly what your intent is.

The game manual can help you here. Try looking at <SG6>, the starting field diagram in the Robot Skills Appendix, and more specifically <RSC2> and <RSC3>.

Please do not encourage others to not read and instead just say “so u do u :man_shrugging:” cause you think it should be legal.

Also, I don’t think you properly read the question as this is about picking up the triball in the match load zone and whether it can be used as a preload.

Robots may start the Robot Skills Match on any legal Starting Tiles for either Alliance.

  1. Teams may use the two (2) red Alliance Preloads as follows:
    a. One Preload must be placed per .
    b. The second red Alliance Triball may be placed in any non-scored position in the Blue Offensive Zone and not touching the Robot, or may be used as a Match Load per and .

-RSC2 Right at the top of the skills section of the game manual.

You only get the one coloured preload but after the game starts the triball in the match load zone is just another triball on the field that you can pick up and do what you want with.

yes, that’s exactly what I mean if we consider the triballs pre placed in the field load triballs can we introduce to the robot during the match in one of the ways noted in VRC Over Under Game Manual - VEX Robotics

Do you mean can you use the triball in the match load zone as a match load?

If so then no.

Once the game starts you can’t pick balls out of the field to match load with unless they are on top of the net on your goal. So treat it like any other match load that was placed on the tile instead of on the robot.

If this isn’t what you mean maybe draw a diagram using the field in the design notebook or make a video of what you want to do.

Hope this helps.

to clarify on this post, you can pick them up with your robot, that is the point of the match loading zone. you can place triballs into the match loading zone or directly onto your robot, and your robot can do the rest. during skills i believe it is not in your best interest to waste time getting the triball out of the match loading zone unless you have a swift and reliable mech, as skills is so time limited.
