We are in the Elementary Division and to Qualify for the World Championships it states “Skills Scores will qualify a team for the World’s Top 30: Mar 07, 2016”
Does an Elementary Team need to finish in the Top 30 among the Elementary Division, or Top 30 of BOTH Middle and Elementary Division?
I don’t believe there is any division between elementary and middle school teams for those rankings since there is only one list for programming and robot skills
I was leaning towards that opinion as well, but they show the grade level at the far right on the World Skills Rankings and allow one to filter the rankings by Elementary or Middle School. Also, since there is a World Championships for Elementary and one for Middle School I began to doubt my first instinct.
Your first instincts were correct, as the rankings for elementary and middle school teams are grouped together in the World Skills Rankings and the VEX Worlds Qualifying Criteria document on the VEX IQ Event Documents page states that the “overall top 30 Robot Skills and the top 30 Programming Skills rankings listed in the World Skills Rankings on RobotEvents.com, as of March 7, 2016, will earn spots in the 2016 VEX Robotics World Championship.” http://www.roboticseducation.org/vex-iq-challenge/viq-event-documents/
