Slapshot R5

Starting configuration. At the start of each Match, the Robot must be able to satisfy the following
constraints:
a. Only be contacting the Floor and/or the Field Perimeter
b. Fit within an 11” x 19” x 15” (279.4mm x 482.6mm x 381.0mm) volume

During our camp this week, we had a discussion that brought more confusion than resolution.

Does the Robot have to be within the usual square/half that is 19 inches before time?
Can it be anywhere on the field behind the bar?
Can the robot hang over the perimeter?

I thought I read that the Robot had to touch the perimeter to start, but I don’t see that now.

Thank you,

Gene

Rule G5 has the other details on pre-match setup (including the “touching the wall” requirement). R5 is more about what’s checked during inspection.

Thank you. I just got back from a vacation in The Badlands and I guess my mind isn’t back at work!

Rules don’t say that, so no.

Needs to be contacting the inner wall per <G5> part c

I don’t see anything prohibiting that as long as the other criteria are met, so yes.

Also, make sure you are on the latest version of the manual, your language re: <G5> doesn’t match exactly with the current rule.
