Slowing down motors using modkit with drivers control

My students are trying to use modkit for driving their robot in the vex iq challenge. They are trying to slow down the motors in the blocks part of the program. Can anyone help?

So I need more information before I can make any suggestions. Are they trying to slow them down for the programming skills challenge or just when they are driving the robot? Any information about the robot drive base would be helpful.
