Hello, We are new to v5. I have questions on Smart Field Controller.
- When does the team use Smart Field Controller? Is it for the team match only?
- Is the Robot Radio for the individual skills/autonomous only?
Teams use the field controller in both head-to-head and skills matches, as it allows whomever is running the match to provide commands to the robot (start autonomous, start driver control, stop driver control, etc.). It is not necessary to operate the robot for practice, just for tournaments, unless you want to practice with the tournament setup.
The robot radio is something that must be mounted to the robot at all times, as this is what allows the controller to wirelessly communicate with the robot’s brain.
