Song playlist for VRC event?

Any recommendations for a current playlist, or songs to include in a playlist for a VRC?
-Obviously no songs with explicit content.
-Obviously no songs that includes the phrase “baby shark”.
-Not Christmas themed.

just that? the WHOLE day?

No, mix in some Durude Sandstorm.

Yes

Lindsey Sterling does a variety of stuff, and it’s not obnoxious
Or you could be safe and do symphony orchestras/classical stuff, but that’s probably boring
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can look up “slav hardbass instrumental”, which is super fast and kind of like electro europop. Might make for good songs while matches are going, but a lot of the non-instrumental ones are probably inappropriate.

Initial D songs playlist are always fire, also proven to make drivers drive 200 times better and faster.

But seriously, I like the idea of Jeipardy music between matches.

Here is a link to what we have been using at the MCCC events in Michigan.

Darude Sandstorm obviously. Maybe mix in Geometry Dash music like Airborne Robots.

I think @[TVA]Connor made a playlist for Worlds last year (and/or previous years).

Some songs I’ve heard at a lot of events:
Europe - “The Final Countdown”
Survivor - “Eye of the Tiger”
Queen - “We Are the Champions”

And at least 1-2 times:
Queen - “We Will Rock You”
Queen ft. David Bowie - “Under Pressure”
Michael Jackson - “Beat It”
Aerosmith - “Dream On”
Alesso ft. Tove Lo - “Heroes”

I remember one tournament that played a lot of Beatles music. (It autocorrected to “Beagles” at first.)

Imagine Dragons would be a good choice, too, especially since I’ve heard they’re used in a lot of robot reveals.

Their song “Ready, Aim, Fire” would be especially good for this year. (One of my team’s students introduced me to it last year.)

[Edited to add more songs]

You can’t forget Robot Rock

Ive made a playlist with 500+ songs in it for reveals. If youd like you can nip pick some songs out of it and make your own playlist for the tournament

Ive been trying to get our programmer to make our robot play cotton eyed joe during competition, but he says he doesnt know how.

on the topic of music, our announcer had a fun game at Waipahu. “Merit games” where members of different teams would name the song and artist as it started playing for “Merit Points” which would allow them to do trivia in between elim matches for fun. It was very entertaining, and would mix up the monotony of robot combat matches

as far as song reccomendations go I second the reccomendation of Lindsey Sterling. Her music is a mix of violin and electronic, creating just a wonderful mix. Heist - YouTube

tbh, you could just sample all the songs from reveals you watched over the years

I like Lindsey Stirling. Her Carol of the Bells is epic. Just depends on the atmosphere you’re trying to set.

This is what TVAConnor has compiled above, and it’s worth taking a look at for ideas. I would try to get a variety of artists, but it’s usually a good idea to keep the ambiance the same.
