Spacing issue

We were changing our gears and ran into a problem. The problem is that with the 84-tooth gear and 60-tooth gear, the spacing doesn’t match up because of the tooth difference. Do you have any ideas on how to solve the spacing issue?

Could you post a photo of your problem? That would make it much easier to assist you.

You need to offset the holes. If you are using a 2-hole-wide c-channel, put one gear in one of the center holes, and the other on one of the side holes. I hope this helps!

This isn’t an issue with the 60 and 84 tooth gear

Ah wait, you’re right, brain fart moment. I guess no one can help until we see a picture of the situation.

Please take a picture of this mechanism and then we can see how to solve this.

You could put a 12 tooth gear in between and reverse the motor spin direction to cancel out. Be warned though that this may cause a lot of friction.

I had the same issue with my robot (with smaller gears but still same issue) and all I did was raise it up a bit (used spacers and some small c-channel to raise it) and that worked out just fine for me.

I don’t know if this is the issue you are having but it might help to look at the drive train for this robot.
