[SpamBot captured for the live Turing Test]: Re-posts a Years-Old Video of an R2D2 Robot

Video of my VEX based R2D2 Robot in action. It has a raspberry Pi 3 that allows it to communicate via open Wi-Fi to connect to WEB based applications…

That’s really cool! BTW, you couldn’t just wait 3 more days to post this.(May 4th)

This looks very cool! Honestly, my only gripe is that I don’t know why you didn’t post this back in December 2017, since the video was certainly up, and you were posting back then.

I posted it on other sites and probably should have posted it here too.

Why may 4th? Is there a new movie out?

May the Fourth be with you.

Looks like human mode has kicked in

Can we stop the robot thing please? Thank you.

I did a little research to search for the OP video and found it referenced in a facebook post last August:

dan-ramirez-on-facebook

After following few more links I found that they all point back to the paywalled magazines that @GalaxyGhost posted in already removed threads:

spambot-magcloud-on-facebook

As deceptively VEX related as this may seem, @GalaxyGhost account is a part of a spamming operation by a hybrid system and, in my opinion, it is best to ban and ignore it or use for entertainment and education purposes as a live Turing Test Subject.

I’m also gonna point out that Mr. Spam Bot’s pfp is the front cover of one of the issues of the Journal of Robotics (the one behind a paywall that he/she keeps linking to)Capture

What country are you from @GalaxyGhost?

Don’t ask for personal information please. If he/she/it wanted it to be known it would be in his/her/it’s description.

Keaton, it says “Version 2.5 rev 4” in @GalaxyGhost bio, doesn’t tell me much about the country.

It's interesting looking at what posts Mr. Spam Bot has liked

It also seems to only operate during certain times of the day, perhaps as another tactic to insinuate legitimacy as a human.

GalaxyGhost has actually been silenced for now.

OMG!

@GalaxyGhost, why did you have to do that?

You don’t know a bit about vex forum culture!

It is that moment when everybody realizes you could get a  from a bot

then this happens

For now but certainly there is another sleeper cell. New and old accounts now subject to Turing tests.
