Spin up drive speed

What speed drive are you guys thinking for this year?

Probably anything higher than or equal to 250rpm

Something equivalent to 290rpm (360 on 3.25in, 600 on 2in etc)

600rpm on 4 inch…

Would speed not play a factor this time around? but more maneuverability? I mean yes get to the discs faster, but wouldnt like a X-Drive or Mecanum wheels be a better bet? Just curious

your going to intake while moving sideways?

257 RPM on 4" wheels, 4 motor drive.

I’m thinking somthing like a 6m 100rpm to 600rpm transmision drive on 2.75" omni wheels but i’m not sure what the meta will be yet.

Why a transmission? Especially a high torque one

So I can push other robots around

Do you feel that high torque is not needed?

This year is primarily meant to be an offensive game. Although, if you did design a high torque base you might find it handy during the end game.

Either 4m 200rpm 4” x drive

Or (crazy option)

6m Asterisk drive
4m 300rpm 2.75” x wheels
2m 360rpm 3.25” middle tank wheels

My team likes the strafing that X drive provides. However, we think that a stronger drive will be required to control the rollers, and possibly push other robots around to mess up their shooting.

I very strongly agree with the last part of his statement

You are right about the rollers. I don’t think they are being talked about enough. They definitely hold a lot of points that are necessary to win the game.

what about 7 motor drive with rollers connected to drive train? :open_mouth:

I would probably go with a 5m transmission H-drive on 2.75s
450 to 100 for transmission, cant do a easy transmission on a x drive
why? for speed and pushing power, while still being able to be a crab

4m Drive, 600 RPM motor driving 36 tooth gear, 84 tooth gear driven attached to 4 inch antistatic omni-wheel (257 rpm).
