Sponsor Questions

We are a new homeschool team. So we do not have big funds coming in to help us get our program up and running. We are going to try to get Sponsors, do we need a team website or is our Facebook page sufficient? Also, where can I go for tips and advice on getting sponsors? Thank you

You don’t really need a team website to get sponsors. Also, this forum is a good place for advice on getting sponsors! I was only okay at it, because in Arizona we have a tax credit system that got most of our funding. You’re going to want to get in touch with local businesses in the STEM field. Draft a form letter to send out to lots of places. Make sure to include your contact info, of course. Some people like to offer benefits. I’m not sure.

I would have a look at this guide I wrote a while ago.

Thank you very much for your help!

But I would be prepared for this to be expensive. Include in your calculations the cost to buy equipment, buy a perimeter and game elements, register for tournaments (can be in the $80 range). Your number should be in the $4,000 to $5,000 range. If you only get half of that, you will still be good as you don’t have to get all of the items now, but if you really need $1,500 you are more likely to get it if you are asking for $4,000 I think.

You can also try and find another local team that you can use their field for practice.

I run a middle school program and the cost is about $60 per kid plus championship costs. We sell a lot of chocolate.

Good luck!

Thank you!

If you’re able to host an event, it can be a good way to get the funds you need. In addition to just the registration fees, it also gives you a 50% discount on your field. We’re paying for V5 this year by hosting an extra event

Thank you, that’s a great idea. But we don’t have a place to host an event. We’re having a hard time finding a place to have our meetings. Thanks for the info that is what we would love to do one day!
