My team is currently apart of a club, however, we would like to switch to private. This is our first time trying to get sponsors for something. How do you guys recommend we get sponsors and how do we store and use the funds.

The search bar is your friend. When I searched for “sponsors” in the search interface, a top result was this topic: The Guide to Getting Sponsors for your Robotics Team
This isn’t the only topic discussing getting sponsors for VEX Robotics teams, so I recommend checking the Vex forum’s search function out for yourself by clicking on the magnifying-glass symbol in the top-right of the website. Your other questions’ answers can also be found with the search feature, by searching with prompts like, “How to store funds.”

I recommend contacting local businesses and asking them if they would be interested in sponsorship. Are you a non-profit or public school? If you are a public school, you are fine. However, companies usually will only provide sponsorships for tax-deductible organizations, such as a non-profit. Apply to be a 501(c)(3), then reach out to them. You should also make a sponsorship packet to send when you approach the company.
